Early Life
Christopher Columbus had a very interesting childhood with his large family. Columbus was born in the month of October, 1451 in Genoa, Italy. Christopher's full name was Cristoforo Colombo. His mother was Susanna Fontanarossa and his father was Domenico Colombo. He had four brothers and one sister. His brothers were Bartolomeo, Giovanni, Pellegrino, and Giacomo. His sister was Bianchinetta. Christopher Columbus had a very supportive family as a child and they wanted him to have the best.

Christopher Columbus twenty-eight years old when he married Filipa Moniz Perestrelo. In the same year of 1480 his first child was born his name was Diego Columbus. Diego was born in Porto, Santo. Then Christopher's wife Filipa Moniz Perestrelo passed away in the year of 1484. Christopher soon had a new partner named Beatriz Enriquez de Arana who was an orphan. Beatriz was born in the year of 1467 and was called the mistress of Christopher Columbus. Christopher had another child with Beatriz in 1488 named Fernando Columbus who was the half brother of Deigo Columbus. Christopher had a very nice relationship with his partner and kids.

On August, 3rd 1492 Columbus went on his first voyage. Christopher was sponsored by Queen Isabella 1 of Spain. Christopher's main idea was to find sea routes to east Asia. Christopher sailed on the biggest ship, the Santa Maria, and most of the other crew and sailors went on the smaller boats; the Pinta and the Nina. After five weeks of sailing through the ocean blue he reached a island that he called the ‘New World’. At first Christopher thought he had reached the east Asia. The European Nation wanted to kick the Native Americans off the island off and claim it for their own. When they met the native Americans, Christopher chose called them “Indians”. Columbus wanted to changed the Native Americans religion to christian. Christopher soon wanted to leave, but the Santa Maria had sunk. Christopher Columbus got on the boat with most of the people who were traveling with him but still left thirty nine men on the island. Christopher returned from his first voyage in March in 1493. Christopher had a very long voyage and returned safely.

Christopher returned back to Spain in 1496. As the years passed Christopher grew very ill, and died on May, 20th 1502. Christopher Columbus died in Valladolid, Italy. Christopher had a full long life full of exciting travels.
